epilogue for the new singles of 1967
1967 Magical Mystery Tour, in the UK, was actually released on
8th December 1967 as a double pack of singles which charted on the UK SINGLES TOP 30.
Although not listed in the New Singles leaflet it was in their
Top 20 Hit Parade the following week. Mono (MMT-1) and Stereo
(SMMT-1) mixes; also the USA Magical Mystery Tour
LP where side two features the A and B sides of the Beatles 1967
singles. This combination eventually became the worldwide norm
and replaced the seven inch double back in the UK. There are
significant differences between some of the mono/stereo mixes
Splendid! Belatedly, the story begins right here....PODCAST
